Attorney
Emily N. Richard was born in Chesapeake, Virginia. She attended the University of Alabama, where she graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Biology in 2019. During her time at UA, Ms. Richard attended an English Literature and Fine Arts study abroad program at the University of Oxford.
Following graduation, she attended the University of Oklahoma College of Law. Ms. Richard served as president of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society and case editor for the Oil and Gas, Natural Resources, and Energy Journal. Her article “Recent Developments in Oil and Gas Habendum Clause and Savings Clause Interpretation” was published in Volume 8, Number 1 of the journal. She received the American Jurisprudence Award in Worker’s Compensation for receiving the highest grade in the class. Additionally, she clerked for the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals where she gained experience in appellate practice and writing. Graduating in the top 15% of her class, Ms. Richard earned her Juris Doctorate with Honors in 2023. Ms. Richard went on to accept a position as an associate attorney at Wiggins Sewell & Ogletree where she continues to lead to the firm in research and appellate writing.
